Beginning September 1, 2014, the Osceola School District will be utilizing a new FOCUS Parent Portal, a tool designed to enhance the communication and involvement of parents in their child's education. The Parent Portal will be replacing the district's Parent Internet Viewer, and will allow parents to better monitor their child's progress in school by providing Internet access to grades, attendance, discipline, academic history, graduation verification, and standardized test results in a secure password-protected environment.
With the new Parent Portal, parents will also have the ability to:
• Send an email to their child's teacher;
• View the school calendar;
• Receive messages from the Osceola School District; and
• Set up alert notifications for attendance, grades, discipline, upcoming assignments, events, and messages.
The Parent Portal will open on September 1 for parents to register for an account. If you wish to create a Parent Portal Account, you have three options to choose from:

Medications: School District personnel will not administer medication unless authorization is complete. All medication (prescription and over the counter) must be hand-delivered by a responsible adult to the school nurse. Prescription medication must be received in its original container. Students may not bring medication to school, and we are unable to accept notes from home regarding medication administration.
If your child is struggling in Math, please encourage them to practice!
Please remember that your child MUST get the password from their teacher.

The academic progress of all students, including those students who exceed curriculum benchmarks, remains a high priority for the school district. Per 1002.3105, Florida Statutes, Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL), the district provides a plan for acceleration decisions within the district's existing Multi-Tiered System of Supports/Response to Intervention (MTSS/RtI) framework. School level Problem Solving Teams shall review assessment data at the beginning of the school year to determine which students may benefit from acceleration options. High performing students who show the need for additional enrichment and challenging curriculum options are currently placed in the appropriate classroom with differentiated instruction. If you have further questions or would like to inquire about ACCEL options, please contact the school office. Adopted 08/07/12
